The Kinesthetic Loop

Kinesthetic Sense is the process that regulates and guides voluntary movement, involving both movement awareness and decision-making.  Movement forms: Patterns that are aesthetically fulfilling. There is a link between nature and movement, as well as between humans and movement. Depending on the age group, movement starts to develop.  Besides the aesthetic aspect of movement, there are functional and health reasons. Objectives have to do with the senses; subjective is how you interpret them. Self-identification with experience. The kinesthetic experience is a loop of communication running back and forth from the body to the brain. The two phases are awareness of objective and subjective, and the second is expression through the body.  We must provide a place where the kids sense, feel, and experience kinesthetic movement. The connection between language and dance. The students must pick a word and associate a movement with each word. Everybody gets one word assigned to th...

Ideal Dance Studio - Part 2

Movement is what my ideal dance studio would promote. Every learner should have a sense of ease and be able to learn how they choose. For instance, I will permit students to write down the dance steps they need to know or to design their own dance. I'll give them the room to express themselves if they have feelings they need to let out and my dancing isn't the right medium for them to do so. My ideal studio should be cheery, bright, and full of positive energy. It should be very versatile and multipurpose. It should be customized to my students' needs and preferences. Our students already get the mentor experience because our classrooms will be smaller and already more focused. Our goal is to establish a learning atmosphere where children feel less pressure to make mistakes and more comfortable doing so. I will schedule meditation time if I sense that my students are stressed out because they cannot concentrate on being creative in both their dancing and their lives if they...

My Ideal Studio

My ideal dance studio would be a studio where everyone is accepting of one another, and nobody is judging one another. I would like to teach in an open space where all the students can join in and give their ideas. I would like the students to be able to be creative whenever they feel. My class will be based on my students and what they want to learn.

Teacher Philosophy Statement

I believe that kids can succeed if they work hard and are persistent. I try to approach teaching with a positive mindset, an open mind, and high expectations for every student I teach each day. Since every child is unique, they all need an enjoyable learning environment in which they can develop socially, emotionally, and cognitively. This is the kind of environment I want to foster so that students can reach their greatest potential. Teaching is a process of learning from students, colleagues, and parents.

Action Plan

Action Plan: Beliefs:  My beliefs for a classroom is for everyone to be accepting of one another, show respect, kindness and to love each other. Our Class at a Glance:  Our studio will be a diverse classrom, where it is an encouragoing place for all the students to learn at their own pace and be accepted.  One Classroom Rule:  One classroom rule is to always be respecting one another. Class Procedures: Entering the classroom:  Enter quietly and politely; remove your hat if you're wearing one; don't interrupt other students. Classroom helpers; learning a classroom job: Every student will play a different role in the classroom. Getting help with assignments: Quietly ask the students near you for help with directions if you need it but wait for me to finish talking; if you are working alone, raise your hand to get help from me. Guests in the classroom: be respectful to the guest and listen to what they are saying. Participating in Group Lessons: Do not bring anythi...

The Holistic Curriculum

 1. Brain Break: Givin them time to dance on thier own and sit if they want to sit. Time for no instuction and they get overwhelmed easily so its a time to relax and chill.  2. Teaching children how to learn about their brain and how to use it. a) Focus - meditation: helps you learn about your brain and ur body and relaxes you enough to understand how to use it.  b) Happiness - talking about what your struggling with so you know your not alone. and everyone around you will have simpathy and they can go around and say something they like about each other.  c) Kindness - group work because it teaches them how to be kind and patient with others.  d) Gratitude journaling - after class write about what you talked about, draw how they are feeling to express themselves and write down who they ar egreatful for.  3. Teach children brain fitness: a) Resilience - To put themselves out there and make them build thick skin so that they gain confidence and love who they ...
